CHESTER TERRACE

London, NW1

Refurbishment of Grade I listed Crown Estates terraced property of over five floors, including forming a recreational roof terrace with a wet bar. The latter is accessed by a new stair through a motorised sliding box light. All replacement joinery was manufactured by a specialist to exactly match the damaged internal period doors, with matching skirtings, architraves and plinth blocks.
Services were replaced to meet current end-user expectations including replacing the existing passenger lift with a bespoke unit to facilitate access to all internal floors.

The existing stairs were clad with hardwood in keeping with the original Georgian design.
Sliding sash and casement windows were refurbished on site by a specialist and re-glazed where required in period glass – including imperfections appropriate for the period. The wall and floor finishes were carefully selected to reflect the original construction and the property was decorated externally to comply with the Crown Estates criterion.
